Take Your Dog To Work Day
By Guest Blogger Mark Verner June 26, 2009 is annual Take Your Dog To Work Day. First celebrated in 1999, Take Your Dog To Work Day was created to celebrate the great companions dogs make and to encourage their adoption from humane societies, animal shelters and breed rescue clubs. This annual event encourages employers to experience the value of pets in their workplace for this one special day to promote pet adoptions. Get involved! Please go to http://www.takeyourdog.com/ to get more information on Take Your Dog To Work Day. You can register your company on the website to show your participation in the event. The website gives some great ideas on how to celebrate TYDTW Day at your place of business: · Raising awareness for homeless dogs by providing reading material and info sheets
· Conduct a Fido Fundraiser for your local animal shelter
· Conduct a Doggie Adopt-a-Thon by making arrangements with your local animal shelter to visit your business with dogs that are currently available for adoption
· Host a Pet Fair by inviting local pet-care professionals to come and talk about their businesses and offer free samples
· Have a photo session so owners can have pictures taken with their dogs
These are just some of the great ideas for hosting a TYDTW Day event at your company. Studies have shown that bringing a dog to work lowers the stress levels at work and puts everyone in a better mood. Everyone loves their pets, so use this as a perfect opportunity to show off your beloved pet to your co-workers!

Recycled Cycles
By Guest Blogger Mark Verner The weather here in Seattle has been great the past several weeks. Why not get out and enjoy it on your bike? If you don't have one, don't worry, Seattle has a lot of great bike shops. One of those great bike shops is Recycled Cycles located in Wallingford. Recycled Cycles was founded in 1994 and specializes in used and reconditioned bicycles. They sell new bikes as well, plus a full array of both new and used bicycle components, accessories, and parts. Not only is purchasing a used and reconditioned bike more affordable than a brand new bike, but it is also good for the environment! Why go out and purchase a brand new bike when there are plenty of perfectly good used bikes out there to purchase. Recycled Cycles also offers bike rentals. Check them out at their website www.recycledcycles.com Get out and ride! Labels: Going Green, Mark's Corner
Save Those Corks!
By Guest Blogger Mark Verner
Are you one of those people who saves your wine bottle corks thinking that you can use them for something in the future? Maybe you were thinking of making a cork board out of them or maybe even a trivet for your kitchen. Some people just like to throw them all in a clear jar to show off their yearly wine consumption. Well I've come across a pretty cool idea for those corks you keep saving. Why not make them into placecard holders for your next dinner party? I've actually seen these wine cork placecard holders for sale, and they can cost up to as much as $30! Seriously? For a used wine cork? I don't know about you but for $30 I could buy another three or more bottles of wine! Why not save that $30 and make your own cork placecard holders. They are very easy to make. Not only will your guests think you are creative like Martha Stewart, but they will surely use the idea for their next dinner party. Basically all you need are some wine corks, a razor blade or sharp knife, and some cardstock. First, you slice off one side of the cork lengthwise so it can lay flat on the table and not roll around. Then, with the cork laying flat, make a slice down the middle lengthwise. Be sure not to go all the way through. Now you're all set to place your cardstock into the top of your cork placecard holder. These cork placecard holders can be used for name cards at dinner parties, for displaying the names of cheeses on a cheese platter, or you can even use them as picture holders to display pictures from your recent wine tour. So go grab all those old corks out of your kitchen drawer and be creative! Labels: Going Green, Mark's Corner, Smart Solutions

Eco-Friendly Art
By Guest Blogger Mark Verner
Do you love fine art? Are you environmentally conscious? You should definitely check out Schimmel Art. Sandhi Schimmel Gold turns everyday, ordinary junk mail into beautiful works of art. The picture above is an example of Sandhi's work. Sandhi explains her art in this excerpt from her website: "My vision is to create beautiful images – I employ the disciplines of painting & mosaic to create a connected collection of representational or abstract images in segments of color - utilizing resources that would otherwise go to waste. It is my mission to create fine art from a variety of materials and messages. I upcycle the materials advertisers use to bombard society with their version of beauty – in images and verbiage."
Sandhi can create an original custom portrait on canvas. Below is an example.

Kill-A-Watt

Even though these items are not being used or turned on, they still drain power out of your outlets. During these tough economic times most people are doing everything they can to help save some money. How much money could you be saving? Well you can easily find out with the Kill-A-Watt Power Monitor by P3. With the Kill-A-Watt you can find out which appliances are the energy abusers in your house. Don't throw out that box!
By Guest Blogger Mark Verner Are you moving? Packing up materials for a tradeshow? Or just cleaning up around the house and need some boxes for storage? Well instead of going out and buying new cardboard boxes, check out UsedCardboardBoxes.com. They "rescue" truckloads of quality used boxes from large companies that might otherwise recycle them or throw them away. UsedCardboardBoxes.com brings the boxes back to one of their regional distribution centers where they are inspected and sorted. Boxes that meet their strict requirements for quality, shape and strength are pre-packed into low-cost, earth-friendly "stacks" and "kits". They then "resell" those boxes to customers all across North America, via their website. They offer free shipping on any residential order and guarantee delivery in 1-2 business days.
UsedCardboardBoxes.com also has a service called FreeCardboardBoxes.com. UsedCardboardBoxes.com cannot buy back or pick up the boxes they sell, so they created this free service so that their customers, and the public at large, can exchange their used boxes for free. All you have to do is go to FreeCardboardBoxes.com and setup a free account. You can then either list the boxes you need, or post the boxes you have to give away. You can then pickup or deliver your boxes to people in your area. This will ensure that the box life cycle is extended! Labels: Going Green, Mark's Corner

Super Bowl Parties
By Guest Blogger Mark Verner
It's that time of year when millions of people gather around their televisions to watch one of the biggest sporting events in the world, the Super Bowl! Most watch for the game, some watch for the commercials and others just use it as an excuse to throw a party on a Sunday. Whatever your reason is for hosting a Super Bowl party make sure it is a success with some of these helpful tips:
- When thinking of the type of food to serve, smaller is better. Since most people will be crowded around a TV set, make sure the food is small, bite-sized food (Chips, popcorn, meatballs, little smokies, etc.)
- If you have multiple TV sets, bring them all out and spread them out throughout the party area. This will ensure that all of your guests have a great view of the game.
- Set up an area for people who might not be all that interested in the game, but like to attend for socializing. Make sure the area is in a quieter place for people who would like to talk.
- If you are going to decorate your party area, keep it simple. Use team colors and don't go overboard. Most likely everyone will have their eyes on the game so you don't need to spend a lot on dressing up the place.
- Of course have plenty of beer on hand. After all it's football. But be sure to have plenty of non-alcoholic beverages for those who might be underage or for the designated drivers.
- You may want to keep some small bills on hand in case some of the party goers want to place a little friendly wager on the outcome of the game.
Hopefully the game will be more entertaining than the commercials, but no matter what if you plan right for your party everyone will have a great time. Labels: Mark's Corner
Inauguration Day
By Guest Blogger Mark Verner Today will truly go down as one very historic day. President Barack Obama will be sworn in as the 44th President of the United States. Millions of people will gather in Washington D.C. to witness the historic event and millions more will watch the event on TV. During Barack Obama’s presidential campaign, one of his major issues was the environment and climate change. He will do all he can to make the United States the leader in battling climate change.
President Obama won’t be wasting any time. Events like this that are on such a large scale create a pretty big carbon footprint. There will be a lot of people flying in and driving in for the event. The Obama Administration is doing their part to help minimize that footprint. Obama will walk from the bottom of the U.S. Capitol's Rotunda to the West Front podium on an "environmentally-friendly" carpet runner. He will also be sworn in on recycled blue carpet. A group by the name of Litter Free Inauguration is encouraging all those who attend to bring their own personal garbage bag to pick up after themselves. There will even be people walking in the Inauguration parade scooping up all the horse manure so that it can be used as fertilizer at nearby farms. After the swearing-in ceremony and parade, there will be two Green Inaugural Balls. One will be hosted by Planet Green and Wyclef Jean and the other is a private, invitation-only Green Ball hosted by Al Gore. So as you’re watching or listening to the Inauguration, feel proud to be an American and also feel proud that America is doing its part to minimize its carbon footprint. Green-up your New Year's Resolutions
By Guest Blogger Mark Verner Why not start out the New Year right by Greening up your life? Try making some Green New Year's resolutions. To help get you started here are some Green resolution ideas.
- Recycle Everything - Pretty much every city and/or town has a recycling program. Take advantage of it by recycling all of your paper, plastic and glass items.
- Reusable Shopping Bags - Instead of going with paper or plastic purchase some reusable shopping bags and use them when buying groceries. Reusable bags hold more and are more durable than their paper and plastic counterparts, plus you can finally get rid of all of those paper and plastic bags you have crammed in that kitchen drawer.
- Reusable Water Bottles - Stop buying plastic water bottles and start using a reusable water bottle. This will help keep all of those plastic water bottles out of our landfills.
- Replace Light Bulbs - This is an easy one. Replace all of your light bulbs with compact fluorescent bulbs. You will not only help save the environment, you'll save money! Each light bulb will save you an average of $30 throughout the course of its life.
- Biodegradable Cleaners - Start replacing all of your cleaners and detergents with biodegradable cleaners and detergents. Less chemicals in your house is good for you and the environment.
- Digital Thermostats - Replace your old thermostat with a digital, programmable thermostat. You can save money by cooling and heating your house only when you need to rather than wasting energy when no one is even home.
- Transportation - Use public transportation, carpool, bike and walk to work as much as possible. Taking public transportation frees up some time to get a little extra work done, read a book/newspaper, listen to some relaxing music on your iPod, or catch a little nap. Carpooling helps save on your gas spending, and biking or walking to work is great excercise.
- Eat Organic - Try eating more local, organic foods. By eating organic foods you are eating foods that contains no toxic pesticides, hormones, or antibiotics. Buying local, organic foods helps your local farmers and community.
These are just a few resolution ideas, so try coming up with some of your own Green ideas to help make the next year the most Green, healthy and money-saving year yet! Happy New Year! Labels: Going Green, Mark's Corner
It's that time of year again....
By Guest Blogger Mark Verner It's the Holiday season and that can only mean one thing....the office Holiday party. Be it an office party or an offsite get-together, the office Holiday party can be a lot of fun, or it can turn into an event you would soon wish to forget. The people over at Quintcareers.com offer the following advice for proper behavior when attending the office Holiday party or function. Do remember that although office parties are intended as social events to reward employees and raise morale, they remain strictly business events. Do act as though your behavior is being observed every minute (because it probably is).
Don’t pass up the invitation to an office party; not attending could hurt your reputation. And when you attend, do spend at least 30 minutes at the party for appearances. But don’t overstay your welcome by partying until the wee hours.
Do conduct yourself professionally at all times. Don’t use the office party as an excuse to blow off steam. It’s still a company function, so proper etiquette and decorum matter.
Don’t pull the nightclub attire from your closet for the event—and do ask whether the attire for the party is formal or casual. The party is still a business function, so conservative party clothes are a good choice. So, do remember to skip anything too revealing or too flashy. Keep your reputation for good taste intact.
Do keep your hands to yourself. Don’t flirt and do avoid any other inappropriate behavior. The office party is not the time to end your career with the company by doing something inappropriate or illegal.
Don’t spend all evening talking business. You’ll forever have the label as the office bore.
Do keep all conversations positive and upbeat. Don’t spend the evening complaining, bragging, correcting, whining, or ridiculing. And do avoid controversial subjects (such as religion, politics, etc.) and off-color jokes.
Don’t monopolize conversations—and, especially, don’t talk about yourself or your accomplishments all night. Do show interest in others. Do be gracious and thank coworkers and team members for all their help and hard work during the past year. And don’t even think about gossiping about others.
Do keep one hand free during the night so that you can offer handshakes to people as they come by. And do keep your drink in your left hand, so you are not offering people a cold, wet handshake all evening.
Don’t feel you need to drink excessively just because it’s an open bar. And don’t pig out at the food buffet either. Moderation is key. You can always eat and drink more after the party.
Do take the time to network and schmooze with people at the party who can influence your career or who you may not see regularly, such as top management, people from other departments, and employees from other locations. A holiday party is a great event to begin building or strengthening business relationships, so do introduce yourself and build your network.
Do be sure you know exactly who is invited to the party. Spouses or significant others are not always on the guest list for office parties. And if guests are permitted, don’t bring an inappropriate person as your guest.
Don’t forget to thank the person responsible for the planning and coordinating of the party. And do consider sending a thank you note to top management for hosting the party.
Do inquire about office policies on providing car or cab service for employees attending the holiday party. And do appoint a designated driver or do hire a cab yourself if the company is not willing to provide the rides home. Don’t drink and drive.
Happy Holidays! Labels: Mark's Corner
Living Christmas Tree
By Guest Blogger Mark Verner Do you have your Christmas tree up yet? No? Well instead of going out and buying a pre-cut tree, try buying a living Christmas tree. A living Christmas tree is the perfect way to decorate your home for Christmas and have a new tree to plant in your yard when you're done with it. If you don't have room in your yard for a new tree, you can take advantage of a program offered by Swansons Nursery in Seattle. Swansons Nursery and Carkeek Park have teamed up for a program called "Trees for Salmon". Once you are done with your tree, you can take the tree back to Swansons Nursery and they will plant the tree at Carkeek Park. Native vegetation help salmon streams by reducing surface water runoff, lowering water temperature, and providing food and habitat for other beneficial critters. Check your local nursery to purchase a living Christmas tree. Why not give mother nature the gift of a new tree this Holiday season? Labels: Going Green, Mark's Corner
So Many Leftovers!
By Guest Blogger Mark Verner
I'm sure most of you have Thanksgiving leftovers still sitting in your refrigerator. And most likely you store them in a Tupperware, Rubbermaid, Gladware or some other plastic container. These containers are great for storing and organizing your food, but they may not be the healthiest or most eco-friendly choice for food storage. Disposable food storage containers and plastic zip bags are piling up in our landfills. And certain plastic containers release toxins when placed in the microwave. Plastic storage containers tend to stain and warp over time. Why not use glass food containers? The glass containers won't stain or warp, and they won't release any harmful toxins into your food when you heat up your leftovers in the microwave. Check out these handy food storage containers.
This glass food storage container is available from Amazon.com. It's perfect for those leftovers from Thanksgiving, Holiday parties, or to store any food item. It's microwave and dishwasher safe. Another great idea for food storage is the Glass Lock collection from Kinetic. These are also available from Amazon.com. These containers come with a locking lid. These are also freezer safe. So when you're thinking of buying some new food storage containers, pass on the plastic and go with glass. It's not only better for the environment, it's also better for your health. The festivities begin with the Macy's Holiday Parade Friday, November 28th at 8:45 am in Downtown Seattle. The Macy's Holiday Star Lighting is at 5:00 pm, followed by a spectacular fireworks display off the top of the Macy's building in downtown Seattle. Gather at Westlake Park for the best view. Plan an Eco-Friendly Thanksgiving!
By Guest Blogger Mark Verner Here are some tips to plan an Eco-Friendly Thanksgiving… 1. Send eco-friendly invitations made of 100% post consumer recycled paper, or made of hemp, banana stalks, organic cotton, or bamboo. Better yet, just send an evite, no paper required.
2. Suggest carpooling. Encourage guests to carpool to your Thanksgiving dinner.
3. Buy an organic Free-Range Turkey. Also purchase everything you can that is organic: milk, meat, veggies, fruits, etc.
4. Purchase organic wines.
5. Reduce packaging. When you go to the store to buy items that have the least amount of packaging and try to buy packaging that is environmentally friendly.
6. If you have to use paper plates, be sure to purchase dinnerware that is biodegradable.
7. Reuse decorations from last year. Use items from your back yard and fall fabric colors to make a nice centerpiece.
8. Plant a tree. Winter season is a good time to plant trees and shrubs so take this time to plant a tree and keep the green growing.
9. If you’re like most people, you will most likely have a lot of leftovers after your Thanksgiving feast. Instead of cramming all of those leftovers into the fridge to rot away, why not donate all of your leftovers to your local shelter or food bank? Be sure to call before your party to arrange pickup or delivery. Or you can send your guests home with little leftover doggie-bags!
10. Say Thanks!

America Recycles Day
By Guest Blogger Mark Verner America Recycles Day (ARD), November 15, is the only nationally recognized day dedicated to encouraging Americans to recycle and to buy recycled products. Celebrating its 11th year, it has grown to include millions of Americans pledging to increase their recycling habits at home and work and to buy products made with recycled materials. Through America Recycles Day, the National Recycling Coalition supports local communities and raises awareness by educating citizens about the benefits of recycling. Volunteer America Recycles Day coordinators are positioned throughout the country and work to organize recycling awareness events in their schools and communities, and in conjunction with their local municipalities. On November 15 each year, millions of people become better informed about the importance of daily recycling and buying recycled products. The purpose of America Recycles Day is to continue to promote the social, environmental and economic benefits of recycling and encourage more people to join the movement toward creating a better natural environment. Check out the National Recycling Coalition's website to learn more about recycling and America Recycles Day. Do your part and start a recycling event in your neighborhood, school or work. Have a Green Halloween!
By Guest Blogger Mark Verner
Here are some tips to having a Green Halloween:
1. Wear homemade costumes and skip the plastic store bought costumes. Not only do you save money, but you also save filling up our landfills with tossed-out costumes which are mainly made of plastic. 2. Use eco-friendly, organic makeup. Avoid the mercury, phthalates, parabens and fragrances that come standard in most brand name cosmetics. 3. Stock your bowl with organic, natural treats that are free from chemicals and preservatives. 4. Choose a reusable canvas bag or a pillowcase for the kids to haul all of their candy home. Avoid the plastic bags or plastic pumpkins which all end up in our landfills. 5. Instead of using a wax candle to light up your jack-o-lantern, try using a soy candle. They last longer and come from renewable soy bean crops. Wax candles release toxic chemicals like toluene and benzene through smoke and soot. 6. When buying your Halloween decorations, be sure to buy items that you can use every year. If you’re buying items you know you can’t keep for use next year, be sure to buy brands that are both recycled and recyclable. Hopefully these tips will help make your Halloween a little more Green!

Water, water everywhere.....
By Guest Blogger Mark Verner
 ....and water bottles too!
It has become commonplace for people to buy bottled water to take to work, school, sporting events and at home. Some of these bottles get recycled, but most do not. Even the process to produce the plastic water bottles is harmful to the environment. Seattle residents use the equivalent of about 354,000 pint bottles of water each day. That equals about 41,000 barrels of oil, creating 5,400 tons of greenhouse gases. Here are some facts about bottled water: Disposable plastic bottles can leach a chemical known as Bisphenol A into the water, the environment, and our own bloodstreams. In fact, evidence of BPA, which is known to disrupt the hormone system of humans, can now be found in approximately 95% of Americans!
U.S. plastic bottle production requires more than 1.5 million barrels of oil, enough to fuel 100,000 cars.
Contributing to global warming by transporting bottled water over great distances.
The Food and Drug Administration regulates only the 30 to 40 percent of bottled water sold across state lines - meaning most of the product you are drinking has not been inspected.

There is an organization that challenges Americans to go Back To The Tap....For A Healthier Planet! Back To The Tap sells a unique sports bottle that conveniently filters the water as you drink. Just one Back To The Tap portable filtered sports bottle provides a convenient and great tasting water sorce for just pennies a day! THE BACK TO THE TAP SYSTEM was developed to offer an affordable, environmentally friendly, and convenient alternative to the physical hazards and catastrophic waste of disposable plastic water bottles. THE BACK TO THE TAP SPORTS BOTTLE has been uniquely designed to "Filter as you Drink”, and is comprised of an FDA approved #4 plastic which can be safely refilled at any Residential or Commercial tap source. Each bottle features our unique Carbon Composite filtering mechanism which will treat up to 80 gallons of water and effectively reduce chlorine, lead, mercury, copper, as well as pharmaceutical impurities. BACK TO THE TAP REPLACEMENT FILTERS will prolong the use of your Sports Bottle for up to nine months - in order to deliver a fresh filtered water drinking experience that will challenge any disposable water product on the market! The sedan is being designed as an alternative to cars such as the BMW 5 Series and the Audi A6, with an estimated price of $60,000. Future plans include a more affordable third model to be released in 2012 at a cost of around $30,000. Tesla Motors is headquartered in San Carlos, California. A new plant has opened in the San Francisco Bay area. If you're looking for a more fuel efficient car, then keep Tesla Motors in mind. You will definitely be hearing more about them in years to come. Tour de Dog
By Guest Blogger Mark Verner
Tour de Dog is the human-canine team of David Sylvester and his dog Chiva. They are traveling across North America by bicycle to encourage and to teach responsible animal/human relationships.
David is a biomedical engineer and vaccine scientist who after two years of working on a Bill and Melinda Gates Grand Challenge Project is redirecting his career and following his true passion in life: animal welfare.

Chiva is a lean 50 pound, shepherd, husky, boxer, chow mix, who David met when she was just a few months old at the Delaware SPCA. It was dog and human best friends at first sight! Chiva was born September 3, 2005. The name Chiva comes from a transportation bus that is used to navigate the mountains of Colombia, South America. David spent two summers in Medellin, Colombia, and named her in hopes that she would explore mountains with him. David and Chiva started their North American journey in Seattle, WA back on March 13, 2008. As of the posting of this blog entry, David and Chiva were leaving Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan and entering Ontario, Canada. Their journey can be followed via their website Tour de Dog. Their website is a daily blog that David updates regularly and posts pictures of their journey. Donations can be made through their website also. David and Chiva have biked over 3,945 miles, and have raised over $3,490. The money being raised is donated to animal shelters visited by David and Chiva throughout North America. David and Chiva also stop off at local animal events, fundraiders, and Boys & Girls Clubs to talk about his journey and to bring awareness of the treatment of animals and human/animal relationships.
The Tour de Dog plans to accomplish their goals in three stages:
STAGE 1
Touring animal shelters and control facilities to gain knowledge Networking with organizations, groups, and individuals Speaking engagements and presentations with communities and media outlets Blogging, reporting, and sharing stories and findings Fundraising to support shelters and facilities that are visited
STAGE 2
STAGE 3
Not only does the Tour de Dog website journal the travels of David and his best friend Chiva, it also tells the many stories of the people they have met on their journey. Take for instance Robert Williams (pictured above). David ran into Robert fifteen miles east of Eureka, NV. He is pushing a baby carriage from the Golden Gate Bridge in California to Washington D.C. to raise autism awareness. David says it's always nice to exchange stories with other travelers such as Robert. Click here to learn more about his journey. David and Chiva also met a hearty group of climbers known as the "Cops on Top" (pictured above). The group consisted of Nevadan police officers who climb Boundary Peak (highest peak in Nevada) annually in tribute to fallen officers. David said that crossing paths with this team of hikers was inspirational and timely, and they generously gave him and Chiva food and fresh water. David and Chiva's travels across North America are definitley inspirational. I have been following their journey since they started back in March and I will continue to follow them until the end. I wish them safe travels. Please visit their website, Tour de Dog, and check out their journey across North America.

Digital Sanctuary
By Guest Blogger Mark Verner
I love gadgets! I’m always on the lookout for the next great digital device that I just can’t live without. Now although it’s nice to have a bunch of fancy gadgets, it’s not that great when you can’t remember where you placed them, or worse yet, if they were plugged in to be charged. Now I’ve found a great digital gadget to help me out with all my other digital gadgets! It’s called “The Sanctuary” made by Blue Lounge. This clever device gives you a common place to keep all of your personal items such as your keys, wallet, cell phone, Blackberry, Bluetooth headset and iPod. Not only is The Sanctuary a sleek looking tray, but it also has adapters to charge all of your digital devices simultaneously in one location! The simple and compact design conceals a universal charger compatible with over 1500 electronic devices from most major brands and a USB port allowing hundreds more electronic devices to be charged using just The Sanctuary. How it works 01. Plug AC adapter (100v ~ 240v) into the mains, lift inner tray and plug the adapter into The Sanctuary power socket.

02. Select your device connector(s). Replace inner tray with selected connector(s) on top of the inner tray.
 03. Plug in your electronic devices and charge. Add keys, wallet and watch as desired. 04. OPTIONAL: Plug-in your own USB charge cord to the built-in USB socket and wind surplus cord length around the integrated cable management pins. Then plug-in and charge also Bluetooth headsets, portable game consoles, and hundreds more such USB devices. The Sanctuary is great for your nightstand, hall table, office desk, or kitchen counter. All of your devices will be located in one place and they will be fully charged. Not to mention you will no longer have to hunt around the house or office to try and find an available outlet to plug in your devices! Labels: Mark's Corner
Picture Perfect!
Hello everyone! First off, let me introduce myself. My name is Mark Verner and today I'm the guest blogger for the EVENTive Event Planning Blog. I'll be stopping by each week to blog about event ideas, innovation and inspiration. I'm new to the blog, but I'm not new to Banquet & Event. I've done photography for Banquet & Event over the past several years, and I'm really looking forward to the 2008 Northwest Event Show. Have you registered? This year it's all about going Green! So save the date! September 23, 2008 at the Washington State Convention & Trade Center. I'm an avid photographer and I'm always looking for innovative ways to show off my photos. I recently came across a product that allows photographers of every skill level to show off their best shots. Moo.com allows you to upload your favorite photos and print them out on different and unique cards.
One of their unique products are their minicards. They are a different type of business card. One side is a full color photo, while the other side can be used for your business information or any message you wish to print! They are unique in the fact that they are about half the size of a standard business card, so they will definitely stand out from the rest of the crowd! Most business card printers only allow one photo to be printed on all your cards, not Moo! Moo wants you to be creative and different. You can use up to 100 full color photos or designs on your mini calling-cards. So every card will be unique and special.
Moo.com also offers standard business cards. Just like the mini calling-cards, you can choose up to 50 different images to display on your business cards. Not only do you get to create unique, personalized business cards, but you can also do your part in helping out the environment by choosing to have your cards printed on recycled paper.

Minicards and Business Cards are just the beginning. You can also create postcards, greeting cards, notecards and stickers with your personal photos! So no matter what your photography skill level may be, use Moo.com to capture all those great memories and business opportunities! Labels: Mark's Corner, Smart Solutions
