Get Inspired! Midnight Peacock
By request from one of our Lucky In Love readers, we have designed today's inspiration board with the following colors in mind: Peacock Blue & Taupe. One may not automatically put these two dynamic shades together, but based on the results of today's board, we think you'll reconsider. This dramatic and sophisticated theme is great for an evening wedding, particularly if you are inspired by an old building or venue. Hope you enjoy! Femme Fatales
We are lucky indeed to have an Oregon Designer by the name of Sarah Seven available to showcase her talents for you. Everything in her style is vintage inspired, taking you back to a time of pure femininity, yet the way she layers her fabrics, no less her fabric choices are pure and modern. Rarely do you see ruffling so soft and wearable by almost everyone. Her showcase is natural looking, made with natural fabrics such as wool, silk, cotton and for good measure, she uses true vintage fabrics and accessories as well. Now on top of all of that check this out, 5% of all sales are dontated to the following charities: Compassion to feed unsponsored children International Justice Mission (IJM is an organization that works to free the enslaved and to hold the slave owners accountable). In the top left position is a two piece Tea top and Crumpets skirt . The top is made from a recycled bodice with light yellow fabric pleated at bust. High waist skirt with bow is decidedly vintage in appeal, yet exceptionally contemporary in this blended look. To capture each description of all the creations, we would strongly recommend visiting her website: Sarah Seven. Truly refreshing and inspiring! Labels: Fashion, Trends

October 3rd . . . Mooncake Festival
Mooncakes - a delicate strong Asian tradition you might want to give some thought to... We found some stunning examples to help inspire you. This year, the Chinese people celebrate the Mid-Autumn festival with dances, feasting and moon gazing on October 3rd. Step into the wonders of these remarkable pastries at a local Chinese bakery. These little cakes earned their popularity during the Yuan Dynasty (1200 A.D.- 1368 A.D.) It is said that mooncakes - which the Mongols did not eat - were the perfect vehicle for hiding and passing along plans for the rebellion. Families were instructed not to eat the mooncakes until the day of the moon festival, which is when the rebellion took place. (In another version plans were passed along in mooncakes over several years of Mid-Autumn festivals, but the basic idea is the same). Roughly the size of a human palm, these mooncakes are quite filling, meant to be cut diagonally in quarters and passed around. More elaborate versions of mooncakes contain four egg yolks (representing the four phases of the moon). Besides lotus seed paste, other traditional fillings include red bean paste and black bean paste. Today, mooncakes may be filled with everything from dates, nuts, and fruit to Chinese sausages. More exotic creations include green tea mooncakes, and ping pei or snowskin mooncakes, a Southeast Asian variation made with cooked glutinous rice flour. Haagen-Daz has even gotten into the act by introducing a line of ice cream mooncakes in Asian markets. We are showing you some fabulous examples from various sources. Top left: Intercontinental - Singapore, Middle - right top: Bakerzin, Middle row: Carlton Hotel, Singapore, Large middle: Peony Jade, Singapore, Middle green apple cakes from Bossacafez, green cake: Goodwood Park Hotel, Singapore, Bottom left Royal Series from Tung Lok, Bottom center: Fairmont Singapore, bottom right: also the Fairmont - this one with hazelnut filling. Ever so softly, she entered the room . .
For the 2010 Spring Bride, we bring you the most feminine of base color trends for 2010 called Future Nude, or as the color chips from Pantone lists it "Silver Peony". That name alone conjurs up some incredibly delicate, yet brilliant huges. This is one of those trends that just about any woman is going to look exceptional in - because it rubs on the soft side of pink which is great for all women. We wanted to inspire you with the softness and elegance this color defines, so who better than Azzaro's Gardenia strapless wool dress to attend the wedding in. If you are so inspired you might want to step up to the elegance and timelessness of Dior. What would Dior be without the possibility of a new wedding band style literally dripping with diamonds. This is a very sophisticated ring style that leans back to the 1970s, when they were first seen in costume jewelry pieces as a ring charm. We found a wonderful example of softened makeup styling from one of our favorite blogs, Vogue France. Wedding gowns selections in this hue are plentiful right now - so here is to great finds and great shopping! Labels: Color, inspired

Get Inspired! Hypercolor
Remember back in the early 90's when hypercolor t-shirts were all the rage? Well today's wedding board is partially inspired by that popular trend (in a much classier fashion of course). Since our homebase is located in Seattle, WA, we think color is just the remedy we need for the drab days of fall and winter. And by the looks of this color inspiration board, we know you'll agree. Fashion Invasion at the 2009 VMA's
Red carpet events are always a great place to check out the latest fashion hits (and a few misses). Sunday night was the 2009 MTV Video Music Awards, which is always good for some mouth-dropping fashion dos and don'ts. This year, we noticed a popular color trend on the red carpet. Or should we say, "no-color" trend? Check out some of the samples of the most popular colors on the red carpet: Black and White, Silver & Gold. Could this be a sign of fashion heading back toward the most basic of colors? We think so. Labels: Color, Fashion, Trends

We think you'll love these completely unique floral bouquets available through Deco Fleur. Deco Fleur specializes in dried floral arrangements. These bouquets are designed with the holidays in mind, and are generally used as table centerpieces. But as unique as they are, we think they are also a great addition to a fall or winter wedding. All the contents in the bouquet are natural, and the best part is you can use them over and over again. Now that is what we call living green! Labels: Color, holidays, Ideas, Social Awareness

Get Inspired! Indian Summer
It's official. We've now entered the late days of summer, and in no time we'll see the change in the color of leaves, shorter days, and cooler temperatures. But we must admit, although the end of summer is a little sad, the romance of fall is enticing. To say a proper farewell to summer and a welcoming hello to fall, we've created today's inspiration board to celebrate the in-between time...where the golden hue of the sun lingers in the evening sky as if to say "Don't forget me during the winter." And here's to hoping the summer remains just a little longer before departing to bring us a taste of a true Indian Summer. Theme: Indian SummerColors: Orange, Gold, Yellow, Red and Apple Green
