Get Inspired: Partly Cloudy with a Chance of Sun
There is something about living in Seattle this time of year that makes us Seattleites ready for change. Perhaps it's the short, dark days or the constant gray skies, but living in Seattle from January to March can be rather depressing. But in truth, so far 2010 is off to a strange start here in Seattle. January lent itself to being one of the warmest and mildest winter months in Seattle's history. We even saw a good stretch of sunny weather, while our West Coast neighbors to the south experienced days of rain on end. Today's inspiration board is in honor of our recent days of "pretty nice" weather. We like pairing a bright, bold color like yellow with a mild and understated color like gray because it reminds of the party cloudy skies with a chance of sunbreaks that we often hear forecasted on the morning news. Plus it reminds us that spring, our long lost friend, is just around the corner. Theme: Partly Cloudy with a Chance of SunbreaksColors: Yellow and Metallic Gray

Get Inspired! Lucky Bamboo
At Lucky in Love we are all about good fortune. And during a time like a wedding, who isn't? So when it comes to choosing a wedding theme that is as lovely as it is lucky, we think this lucky bamboo theme takes the cake. Did you know that the number of stalks on a bamboo plant signifies different forms of luck? The Chinese recognize that... - 3 stalks are given for Happiness
- 5 stalks are given for Health
- 6 stalks are given for Harmony
- 8, 18, 28, or 38 stalks are given for Prosperity
So if you are like most brides and grooms and happiness, health, harmony and prosperity sound like just a few things you would like in your life, then perhaps a little extra luck on your wedding day couldn't hurt. Drama, drama and more drama. That is what today's inspiration board is all about. So if drama and romance are practically synonymous with your name, here's a board we know you'll love. There is a reason why purple is the color of royalty. In all its various shades, purple just looks majestic. And when its paired with a simple shade of gray or platinum, an already regal color becomes the perfect pairing for your wedding. We suggest going with a shade of violet, a hot color trend for 2010. There are a ton of flower options for your bouquet (as seen in the bottom right example) and adding fun details in purple shades can add the extra special charm to your wedding that will keep your guests in awe. Get Inspired! Royally Yours
There is nothing like a splash of color! No matter the season, no matter the shades, color can dress up any venue, theme or event. Today's inspiration board is all about the boldness of color. Sometimes it's easy to shy away from rich, vibrant hues, but that can be a mistake. Particularly if you've chosen a venue for your wedding that much more simple and subdued. And if you are having trouble selecting a theme for your wedding, always remember that color is a theme all on its own. So matter what shades you choose, go bold and be brave!

Remember back in the early 90's when hypercolor t-shirts were all the rage? Well today's wedding board is partially inspired by that popular trend (in a much classier fashion of course). Get Inspired! Indian Summer
It's official. We've now entered the late days of summer, and in no time we'll see the change in the color of leaves, shorter days, and cooler temperatures. But we must admit, although the end of summer is a little sad, the romance of fall is enticing. To say a proper farewell to summer and a welcoming hello to fall, we've created today's inspiration board to celebrate the in-between time...where the golden hue of the sun lingers in the evening sky as if to say "Don't forget me during the winter." And here's to hoping the summer remains just a little longer before departing to bring us a taste of a true Indian Summer. Theme: Indian SummerColors: Orange, Gold, Yellow, Red and Apple Green

Get Inspired! Natural Beauty
Every once in a while we hear how a bride and groom are having trouble choosing a color scheme for their wedding. To tell you the truth, this always perplexes us. Everywhere we look we find inspiration. In particular, we find endless sources of inspiration in the beautiful surroundings created by nature. Below are some of natures finest performances, as photographed by Ryan Chesla in Costa Rica. Sometimes its so blatant it is almost as if mother nature herself is saying "Hey You! What about this?" Today we've created a board celebrating the wonder and beauty that we so often take for granted. Just look how the colors blend and radiate off of each other. Can anything be more beautiful? Get Inspired! When Life Imitates Art
You've heard it said a million times...life always imitates art. These colorful and distinctly different evening gowns below prove just that. If the trends for 2010 are showcasing anything in particular, its color. In fact, the bolder and more intense, the better. Any true fashionista knows that clothes are another form of art, and by the looks of the following examples, we know you'll agree. When planning your wedding, take time to find inspiration for color schemes, design and themes through the unique expressions of artists, painters, sculptors, and impressionists. Art is the full expression of life, so what better inspiration for your wedding than to steal a piece of the magic already laid out for you? Get Inspired! Butterfly Kisses
There is simply something magical about seeing a beautiful butterfly fluttering before you. We choose to believe that a butterfly signifies good luck and we aren't the only ones who believe this. The Mandarin Chinese word for butterfly is "hu-tieh". "Tieh" means "70 years", therefore butterflies have become a symbol for a long life. In this culture butterflies have also become representative of young men in love. In the Japanese culture butterflies are thought to be representative of young maidens and marital bliss. Many Japanese families use the butterfly in the family crest design. So if you are sentimental and perhaps a tad superstitious (and goodness knows most brides are) we recommend incorporating the butterfly into your wedding theme. And whether or not a butterfly can bring you good luck and marital bliss is still up in the air, but it certainly can't hurt! Get Inspired!: Platinum & Magnolias
If you like clean, straight lines, the fresh smell of linen, and understated elegance, then you'll love today's Inspiration Board inspired by platinum and magnolias. The magnolia flower has been associated with beauty and perseverance, as well as dignity and nobility. The symbolic meaning of flower species has been passed down from generation to generation and arose from fables and legends connected to the flower. The magnolia has also been said to symbolize sweetness and a love for nature. When paired with platinum, and light blush pink, the magnolia flower, large in size, adds structure and brilliance to your wedding design.
