Top Fonts For Wedding Invitations

First impressions always matter, and when your wedding invitation arrives in the mailbox of your wedding guest, you want to "wow" them from the start. Wedding invitations are incredibly important in sending a message to your guests about what type of wedding yours will be. The more formal the script the more likely your guests will understand how to prepare for your event, and will select formal attire to wear to your wedding. If you choose a more fun style font for your invitation, your guests will get the message that your event is a carefree party and may dress more casually.

Whatever your theme or style, work with your invitation designer or manufacturer to select a font that fits your theme. Here are some of our most recent favorites. These are all available at Veer.com.

Put On A Pedestal

A popular new trend in cake display for weddings is to place your cake or cupcakes on a decorative pedestal. Pedestals are fantastic for cakes that are not extremely tall, 3 or less tiers, and for cupcakes because they can help add significance to your deliciously designed dessert. By placing your cake on a pedestal, it gives the allusion that your cake is much larger, even if you have a small wedding. Also, you can save money by ordering a more basic design for your cake, but not loose flair by having a very decorative pedestal to place it on.

We recommend setting a table aside for your cake at your reception and using a pedestal in the center of the table. Then add ambiance with different height candles around the pedestal, accompanied by petals of roses or individual orchids scattered throughout the table. When shopping for a pedestal, look for one that you can reuse again and again in your own home for entertaining.

Will You Be My Valentine In May?

Do you ever feel when you are planning your wedding you sometimes lose sight of the reason you are getting married in the first place? After all, you met the person of your dreams, you fell in love, you got engaged and now you are planning the most stressful event of your lives. The wedding planning can sometimes throw a wrench in the romance department. So here is our recommendation to keep the romance alive even during the stress of planning your wedding. Take the time to send your love a romantic love letter. Pick out a creative greeting card with a unique message and write your own words on the inside. It doesn't have to be long and poetic, just a simple "I love you and I'm thinking of you" will suffice. You'll send the message to your partner that you care enough about him or her to make time during the BIG STUFF for the little stuff too.

We Think You'll Love...

We think you'll love these jewels and bedazzles from the bridal collection by Tarina Tarantino.
Tarina Tarantino was founded in 1995 by Tarina Tarantino and Alfonso Campos. The 1990's were the height of minimalism in the fashion world. Accessories were almost non existent in the pages of fashion magazines and stores. Their colorful and inventive designs were a breath of fresh air for customers that were tired of blending into the fashion landscape. Now celebrities like Heidi Klum, Jennifer Garner, Cameron Diaz, Jennifer Lopez and Paris Hilton have worn deisgns by Tarina Tarantino.

We are especially in love with their ultra feminine bridal collection. Check out some of our favs below.

Do-It-Yourself Valentine's Day Gifts

Do you possess the baking gene? If so, you'll love the Do-It-Yourself baking kits from Sur La Table that will help you create the most fabulous Valentine's Day gifts for your sweetheart that look like they came from the most decadent bakery in town. After all, they say the quickest way to a man's heart is through his stomach, right?

From the premier Parisian pâtisserie, Fauchon, founded in 1886, these molds are made of flexible, food-grade silicone that won’t absorb odors, flavors or stains. Molds easily release foods and do not develop hot spots, resulting in even baking. Freezer, microwave and oven safe to 500ºF.

We just have one request. When you finish making these goodies for your love, would you mind sending some our way? Just had to ask.

Diffuse

Candles and room diffusers are the final touch to personalizing your space. The bonus, well that's a little something called mood enhancement......or thoughts of other things. This is exactly what good candles and diffusers can bring into a specific environment of your choice.

Here are a few ideas from one of our favorite websites called Scents & Sprays.

1. Archipelago Monogram B They offer you exceptional value. In many lesser fragrances in candles and soaps and diffusers, it would not be uncommon to buy three or four - which would be necessary to keep the continued fragrance available in your space - that only ONE Archipelago product will give you. You can find these at Anthropologie in Seattle

2. Another Archipelago product exuding quality are their candles - one of the capturing fragrances is the White Sugar Mango Soy candle, shown here for $20.00

3. Archipelago diffuser - what would you say if we told you we iknow several people who have had these particular diffusers and they have lasted over a year and a half? It's true - all you need to do is change the reeds. Quality fragrance blends will do this for you. Available at http://www.archipelago-usa.com/

4. St Moritz Candle collections - these candles refer to their fragrance as Divine. They are absolutely correct. Again - the value in the candle is the quality of the wax and fragrance - and adding to this is the contemporary simplicity of great design.

5. If YOU are the gourmet candle connoisseur - this is the candles collection that is a MUST have - Voluspa Basic Black Votive set of 10. The difficulty is when you are not sure whether to keep them or heaven forbid - give this away as a gift. We know what we would do - Your turn! $48.00 (Available at Nordstrom)

6. There is no doubt nothing much more romantic than walking into a room with the scent and look of candle light. The atmosphere is transformed into that very special personal space you create just for that special moment. Now comes the reality of safety and cost. One can spend a fortune on candles and in this day and age - not the priority you want it to be..... the answer is flameless "wax" candles. These particular candles will give you hours and hours of "mood".... before you even have to even replace the battery. And to set the perfect scene - not to be interrupted - yes a remote is included. Two 6" flameless pillars WITH remote $28.00!. If you want a little variety - try Cypress-Limegrass, Ocean Waters or Pomegranate.

7. Once again we have to include the Voluspa, Vervaine Olive Leaf Reed Diffuser. This is a clean, vibrant fragrance... with the blend of lemon verbena, green olive leaves, pettigrain and cucumber - wow - the fragrance you just sniff and cannot stop wanting to get more!

8. Presented in a beautiful, hand-blown Italian crystal perfume bottle with glass stopper, and decorative tray, Agraria Mission Fig AirEssence™ is filled with a special formulation of Mission Fig fragrance oil. Available on-line at: http://www.beautyexclusive.com

9. Bellissimo cut crystal decanter and home ambiance fragrance reeds made with superior formulations and only the finest natural ingredients in unique combinations. These are available at Caesars online at: http://www.caesarsluxurycollection.com/item.asp?curr_item_id=204&cat_id=4

This book is packed with gorgeous full-bleed and double-spread photographs of 10 such parties. They range from modern to romantic and the majority of arrangements pictured--Preston's amazing centerpieces, hanging arrangements, chair adornments, place settings, etc.--have never before been seen. Each chapter will focus on a specific inspirational element, such as a 6-foot pineapple made from sunflowers and palm leaves, a lawn made entirely of roses, and floating orchids and peonies in an indoor pool. Above all, Bailey encourages anyone planning a party to allow their creativity to blossom and have fun while designing their dream event.

Packed with advice and inspiration from three of Los Angeles' most popular party providers. The harmonious relationship between food and flowers is clearly shown in beautiful, specially commissioned photographs, which showcase twenty themed events inspired by those created for their celebrity clients. All of the events included have a theme, decor, and menu. Choose from a Rustic Italian Party, a colorful Caribbean Dinner, a lavish New Year's Eve Celebration, an elegant Wine Tasting, or a glamorous Pink Ladies' Luncheon, plus many more. Winterize Your Home

It happened just the other day. We were walking outside and could see our breath for the first time this year. The chill is in the air, and that only means one thing. Winter is coming, and there is nothing we can do to stop it. So let's embrace it. Let's take advantage of the cold days and the crisp morning air, by grabbing an extra cup of hot chocolate, a warm wool blanket and an extra pair of socks.

Since we'll be spending a lot more time indoors, it's a great time to winterize your domain to make you feel nice and toasty indoors, even though it's freezing on the other side of the door. We've gathered some hot new looks to help you winterize your home, with charming home accessories that celebrate this time of year and keep the chills outside. These great winter accessories come from West Elm.

Portrait Of Two People In Love

Looking for something ultra unique and fabulous to remember your wedding? How about a custom portrait of you and your new husband?

Kristine Baerlin’s portraits are a contemporary approach to the pop art tradition. Working in New York City as a successful painter for nearly a decade, Baerlin has developed two distinct portrait styles. Baerlin works directly with all of her clients to develop a unique size and color combination. Each portrait, hand-painted by the artist and signed on the back of the canvas, utilizes a signature circular pattern. Baerlin’s portraits guarantee a timeless work of art.

Each portrait is carefully planned directly between Kristine and her clients to best reflect their individual style and taste. Working together, they will swap color ideas, decide on a size and determine the best photograph from which to work. Kristine is always open to special requests and new ideas, as her passion is to make every portrait one-of-a-kind and timeless. This consultative process can be done in person, over the phone, or by email.

To plan your portrait, click here.

**UPDATE! We received the following email from Kristine...

I just want to thank you for posting the feature on my work in your October 13th posting! I haven't seen it until now, as someone just contacted me saying that she is interested in having a portrait done of her fiancé and herself, and using that at the beginning of the wedding, and as the theme for all printed material! This is such a cool idea! I'm so flattered that you put my work out there and that your readers are interested!

I can't thank you enough!
