Friday, October 9, 2009Give The Gift Of A Better Future Whenever we come across a new and novel idea for brides, we know it is our duty to share it with you. Traditionally, guests gave the wedding couple gifts along the line of household items to help them start their new lives. These items were essential to the young couple as they were very young and did not own any of the necessary household items to begin their new lives together. And in registering at any of the traditional retailers, the guests are subject to additional charges beyond the gift itself like the sales tax and shipping charges. In the modern day, couples are getting married later in their lives which means they already have many if not all the things they need for a household - pots and pans, flatware, stemware, etc. Additionally, as the couples unite as a household, they will be consolidating many of their things, getting rid of the duplicate household items. So the last thing they may want is more "stuff" to have to manage and find a place to store more household items. This is where Wedding Futures comes in. For the modern couple, matters like the down payment for their first home or tuition for their children far outweigh that of fine china or gravy boats. Or even paying off the cost of the wedding and honeymoon as more couples are paying for their own weddings! Wedding Futures allows you to set up a registry for all the securities you need. At registration couples select from one of five types of portfolio profiles - Conservative, Moderate, Aggressive, Green, or Socially Responsible. Stocks in each risk profile span a broad range of prices to fit every gifter’s budget. Labels: Favors, Gifts, Local Events, Social Awareness

Monday, August 17, 2009We Think You'll Love...![]() We think you'll love this new concept from Our Story Is A Song. How many couples actually have a song they can call their very own? Sure we've seen the couples on TV and movies sigh at the sound of their love song playing on the radio, but how many of us real couples actually remember the first song we danced to, or the song playing when we shared our first kiss? Chances are, not too many. So that is why we love this idea from Our Story Is A Song. Our Story is a Song is an amazing way to help make the most significant day of your life stand out and capture memories by telling the REAL story of you as a couple. A song lasts forever and your unique story is such an important part of your life and wedding day. You’ve put so much thought into making sure that just the right details reflect who you are into everything from the perfect wedding gown to the color of the paper for the guest placement cards to the ice sculpture that will be beautiful for a few hours, then is gone forever. So why would you choose a song for your day that doesn’t hold forever your story-and never melts away? Here is how it works: First, fill out the questionnaire in the “Begin Here” section and choose a song template that best describes you and fits your taste. Accept the copyright legal information if you agree. Make your $250 prepayment on the billing page. Next, you will receive a first draft of the lyrics for your approval in 10-14 business days. At this time, you will need to pay the balance of $1,250 to begin the recording process. Once you have approved the first draft of the lyrics and payed your balance, we will capture your story in song form and final vocals will be recorded to the track.
This has to be one of the most unique ideas we've ever heard of. Kudos to Our Story for such a novel idea!

Monday, June 15, 2009Top Fonts For Wedding Invitations
First impressions always matter, and when your wedding invitation arrives in the mailbox of your wedding guest, you want to "wow" them from the start. Wedding invitations are incredibly important in sending a message to your guests about what type of wedding yours will be. The more formal the script the more likely your guests will understand how to prepare for your event, and will select formal attire to wear to your wedding. If you choose a more fun style font for your invitation, your guests will get the message that your event is a carefree party and may dress more casually.
Whatever your theme or style, work with your invitation designer or manufacturer to select a font that fits your theme. Here are some of our most recent favorites. These are all available at Veer.com. 1. Feel Script :: $99 ![]() 2. Compendium :: $99 3. Montague Script :: $59![]() 4. Adios :: $99 5. Burgues Script :: $99
Friday, May 22, 2009Put On A Pedestal
A popular new trend in cake display for weddings is to place your cake or cupcakes on a decorative pedestal. Pedestals are fantastic for cakes that are not extremely tall, 3 or less tiers, and for cupcakes because they can help add significance to your deliciously designed dessert. By placing your cake on a pedestal, it gives the allusion that your cake is much larger, even if you have a small wedding. Also, you can save money by ordering a more basic design for your cake, but not loose flair by having a very decorative pedestal to place it on.
We recommend setting a table aside for your cake at your reception and using a pedestal in the center of the table. Then add ambiance with different height candles around the pedestal, accompanied by petals of roses or individual orchids scattered throughout the table. When shopping for a pedestal, look for one that you can reuse again and again in your own home for entertaining. ![]() Top Left: McKee/Fire King cake plates (vintage), periodically found on eBay or Ruby Lane Top Middle: 10" Blue Footed Mirror Platter: 10" diameter, 9.25" high. Friday, May 15, 2009Will You Be My Valentine In May?
Do you ever feel when you are planning your wedding you sometimes lose sight of the reason you are getting married in the first place? After all, you met the person of your dreams, you fell in love, you got engaged and now you are planning the most stressful event of your lives. The wedding planning can sometimes throw a wrench in the romance department. So here is our recommendation to keep the romance alive even during the stress of planning your wedding. Take the time to send your love a romantic love letter. Pick out a creative greeting card with a unique message and write your own words on the inside. It doesn't have to be long and poetic, just a simple "I love you and I'm thinking of you" will suffice. You'll send the message to your partner that you care enough about him or her to make time during the BIG STUFF for the little stuff too.

We think you'll love these jewels and bedazzles from the bridal collection by Tarina Tarantino.
Tarina Tarantino was founded in 1995 by Tarina Tarantino and Alfonso Campos. The 1990's were the height of minimalism in the fashion world. Accessories were almost non existent in the pages of fashion magazines and stores. Their colorful and inventive designs were a breath of fresh air for customers that were tired of blending into the fashion landscape. Now celebrities like Heidi Klum, Jennifer Garner, Cameron Diaz, Jennifer Lopez and Paris Hilton have worn deisgns by Tarina Tarantino. We are especially in love with their ultra feminine bridal collection. Check out some of our favs below.

Friday, December 19, 2008Diffuse![]() Candles and room diffusers are the final touch to personalizing your space. The bonus, well that's a little something called mood enhancement......or thoughts of other things. This is exactly what good candles and diffusers can bring into a specific environment of your choice. Here are a few ideas from one of our favorite websites called Scents & Sprays. 1. Archipelago Monogram B They offer you exceptional value. In many lesser fragrances in candles and soaps and diffusers, it would not be uncommon to buy three or four - which would be necessary to keep the continued fragrance available in your space - that only ONE Archipelago product will give you. You can find these at Anthropologie in Seattle 2. Another Archipelago product exuding quality are their candles - one of the capturing fragrances is the White Sugar Mango Soy candle, shown here for $20.00 3. Archipelago diffuser - what would you say if we told you we iknow several people who have had these particular diffusers and they have lasted over a year and a half? It's true - all you need to do is change the reeds. Quality fragrance blends will do this for you. Available at http://www.archipelago-usa.com/ 4. St Moritz Candle collections - these candles refer to their fragrance as Divine. They are absolutely correct. Again - the value in the candle is the quality of the wax and fragrance - and adding to this is the contemporary simplicity of great design. 5. If YOU are the gourmet candle connoisseur - this is the candles collection that is a MUST have - Voluspa Basic Black Votive set of 10. The difficulty is when you are not sure whether to keep them or heaven forbid - give this away as a gift. We know what we would do - Your turn! $48.00 (Available at Nordstrom) 6. There is no doubt nothing much more romantic than walking into a room with the scent and look of candle light. The atmosphere is transformed into that very special personal space you create just for that special moment. Now comes the reality of safety and cost. One can spend a fortune on candles and in this day and age - not the priority you want it to be..... the answer is flameless "wax" candles. These particular candles will give you hours and hours of "mood".... before you even have to even replace the battery. And to set the perfect scene - not to be interrupted - yes a remote is included. Two 6" flameless pillars WITH remote $28.00!. If you want a little variety - try Cypress-Limegrass, Ocean Waters or Pomegranate. 7. Once again we have to include the Voluspa, Vervaine Olive Leaf Reed Diffuser. This is a clean, vibrant fragrance... with the blend of lemon verbena, green olive leaves, pettigrain and cucumber - wow - the fragrance you just sniff and cannot stop wanting to get more! 8. Presented in a beautiful, hand-blown Italian crystal perfume bottle with glass stopper, and decorative tray, Agraria Mission Fig AirEssence™ is filled with a special formulation of Mission Fig fragrance oil. Available on-line at: http://www.beautyexclusive.com 9. Bellissimo cut crystal decanter and home ambiance fragrance reeds made with superior formulations and only the finest natural ingredients in unique combinations. These are available at Caesars online at: http://www.caesarsluxurycollection.com/item.asp?curr_item_id=204&cat_id=4
