Get Inspired: Partly Cloudy with a Chance of Sun
There is something about living in Seattle this time of year that makes us Seattleites ready for change. Perhaps it's the short, dark days or the constant gray skies, but living in Seattle from January to March can be rather depressing. But in truth, so far 2010 is off to a strange start here in Seattle. January lent itself to being one of the warmest and mildest winter months in Seattle's history. We even saw a good stretch of sunny weather, while our West Coast neighbors to the south experienced days of rain on end. Today's inspiration board is in honor of our recent days of "pretty nice" weather. We like pairing a bright, bold color like yellow with a mild and understated color like gray because it reminds of the party cloudy skies with a chance of sunbreaks that we often hear forecasted on the morning news. Plus it reminds us that spring, our long lost friend, is just around the corner. Theme: Partly Cloudy with a Chance of SunbreaksColors: Yellow and Metallic Gray

Get Inspired! Lucky Bamboo
At Lucky in Love we are all about good fortune. And during a time like a wedding, who isn't? So when it comes to choosing a wedding theme that is as lovely as it is lucky, we think this lucky bamboo theme takes the cake. Did you know that the number of stalks on a bamboo plant signifies different forms of luck? The Chinese recognize that... - 3 stalks are given for Happiness
- 5 stalks are given for Health
- 6 stalks are given for Harmony
- 8, 18, 28, or 38 stalks are given for Prosperity
So if you are like most brides and grooms and happiness, health, harmony and prosperity sound like just a few things you would like in your life, then perhaps a little extra luck on your wedding day couldn't hurt. Get Inspired! ForEVER In Love
As natives of the Northwest, we are lucky to be surrounded by spectacular sights of nature. While leaves are falling this time of year, us Seattleites are fortunate to have our natural backdrops remain green all year long. The majestic evergreen trees that grow so impressively around us, got us thinking about a wedding theme with this magnificent natural beauty as a centerpiece. After all, we are talking about your relationship with someone you've chosen to be your forEVER companion. So if forEVER is what you have in mind, may we suggest this simple, yet truly wonderful wedding theme. Get Inspired: Drama Is My Middle Name
Drama, drama and more drama. That is what today's inspiration board is all about. Whenever you select a deep and lovely shade like a dark red or burgundy, you must have the flair and gumption to pull it off. Burgundy is a beautiful color for your winter wedding because of the emotions it evokes. It's romantic, dramatic, and down right irresistible just like that handsome groom of yours. So if drama and romance are practically synonymous with your name, here's a board we know you'll love. Get Inspired! Purple Majesty
There is a reason why purple is the color of royalty. In all its various shades, purple just looks majestic. And when its paired with a simple shade of gray or platinum, an already regal color becomes the perfect pairing for your wedding. We suggest going with a shade of violet, a hot color trend for 2010. There are a ton of flower options for your bouquet (as seen in the bottom right example) and adding fun details in purple shades can add the extra special charm to your wedding that will keep your guests in awe. From gold leafed wedding invitations, to shimmering eye shadow, gold will make you feel like royalty. And on your wedding day, what could be more fitting than that? Get Inspired! Royally Yours
There is nothing like a splash of color! No matter the season, no matter the shades, color can dress up any venue, theme or event. Today's inspiration board is all about the boldness of color. Sometimes it's easy to shy away from rich, vibrant hues, but that can be a mistake. Particularly if you've chosen a venue for your wedding that much more simple and subdued. And if you are having trouble selecting a theme for your wedding, always remember that color is a theme all on its own. So matter what shades you choose, go bold and be brave!

Get Inspired! Midnight Peacock
By request from one of our Lucky In Love readers, we have designed today's inspiration board with the following colors in mind: Peacock Blue & Taupe. One may not automatically put these two dynamic shades together, but based on the results of today's board, we think you'll reconsider. Get Inspired! Hypercolor
Remember back in the early 90's when hypercolor t-shirts were all the rage? Well today's wedding board is partially inspired by that popular trend (in a much classier fashion of course). Since our homebase is located in Seattle, WA, we think color is just the remedy we need for the drab days of fall and winter. And by the looks of this color inspiration board, we know you'll agree. Get Inspired! Indian Summer
It's official. We've now entered the late days of summer, and in no time we'll see the change in the color of leaves, shorter days, and cooler temperatures. But we must admit, although the end of summer is a little sad, the romance of fall is enticing. To say a proper farewell to summer and a welcoming hello to fall, we've created today's inspiration board to celebrate the in-between time...where the golden hue of the sun lingers in the evening sky as if to say "Don't forget me during the winter." And here's to hoping the summer remains just a little longer before departing to bring us a taste of a true Indian Summer. Theme: Indian SummerColors: Orange, Gold, Yellow, Red and Apple Green

Get Inspired! Natural Beauty
Every once in a while we hear how a bride and groom are having trouble choosing a color scheme for their wedding. To tell you the truth, this always perplexes us. Everywhere we look we find inspiration. In particular, we find endless sources of inspiration in the beautiful surroundings created by nature. Below are some of natures finest performances, as photographed by Ryan Chesla in Costa Rica. Sometimes its so blatant it is almost as if mother nature herself is saying "Hey You! What about this?" Today we've created a board celebrating the wonder and beauty that we so often take for granted. Just look how the colors blend and radiate off of each other. Can anything be more beautiful? Get Inspired! When Life Imitates Art
You've heard it said a million times...life always imitates art. These colorful and distinctly different evening gowns below prove just that. If the trends for 2010 are showcasing anything in particular, its color. In fact, the bolder and more intense, the better. Any true fashionista knows that clothes are another form of art, and by the looks of the following examples, we know you'll agree. When planning your wedding, take time to find inspiration for color schemes, design and themes through the unique expressions of artists, painters, sculptors, and impressionists. Art is the full expression of life, so what better inspiration for your wedding than to steal a piece of the magic already laid out for you? Get Inspired! Butterfly Kisses
There is simply something magical about seeing a beautiful butterfly fluttering before you. We choose to believe that a butterfly signifies good luck and we aren't the only ones who believe this. The Mandarin Chinese word for butterfly is "hu-tieh". "Tieh" means "70 years", therefore butterflies have become a symbol for a long life. In this culture butterflies have also become representative of young men in love. In the Japanese culture butterflies are thought to be representative of young maidens and marital bliss. Many Japanese families use the butterfly in the family crest design. So if you are sentimental and perhaps a tad superstitious (and goodness knows most brides are) we recommend incorporating the butterfly into your wedding theme. And whether or not a butterfly can bring you good luck and marital bliss is still up in the air, but it certainly can't hurt! If you like clean, straight lines, the fresh smell of linen, and understated elegance, then you'll love today's Inspiration Board inspired by platinum and magnolias. The magnolia flower has been associated with beauty and perseverance, as well as dignity and nobility. The symbolic meaning of flower species has been passed down from generation to generation and arose from fables and legends connected to the flower. The magnolia has also been said to symbolize sweetness and a love for nature. When paired with platinum, and light blush pink, the magnolia flower, large in size, adds structure and brilliance to your wedding design. Get Inspired!: Sea Of Deep Red Something
We all know certain colors pair well with each other. Typically a bold shade is paired with a lighter counterpart. But in our opinion, the best colors are those you might actually think would clash. Sure, if you are looking in your closet in the morning you would never grab a teal cardigan to go over your red blouse. Or would you? The mismatch or match-made-in-heaven, depending on how you look at it, may very well be the key to your own wedding color inspiration. We say break the rules and start creating your own. Get Inspired!: 007
Weddings are not just about women. After all, without the men in our lives, there would be no reason to throw a big shindig like a wedding in the first place. So, there is also no reason at all the men should not have a say in the design and execution of the wedding theme. So if your man has a mind of his own and wants to express it in the wedding too, we have the perfect wedding theme and inspiration board for you. Meet Bond...James Bond. We love the idea of a 007 inspired wedding theme. After all, is there anything more sexy and sheik than Bond? And what is Bond without his Bond girl? (That being you of course). Get Inspired!: Think Pink
Now this is how to "Think Pink" for your wedding! With so many beautifully pink bridal elements to choose from, why not go all the way and make everything pink! We felt the delicate inspiration of French couture works best with a "Think Pink" wedding, so here are a few choices to help you tap the spirit. Theme: Think Pink!Colors: Pink, Pink and more Pink! Top Left Row: Inspired by a black crystal chandelier and draped walls - French inspired reception setting Top Row Middle: Soft French inspired shoe by Andy Maloles and next to them with a back bow to create the mood, pink satin by Badgley Mischka. Top Right: Peonies and more peonies in white and shades of pink. This is the flower of choice for the hottest floral trend in weddings for 2009. Center: The cake is a confectionery wonder inspired again by the French macaroons and traditional board squaring. Third Row Left: A pink toile gown fits the theme perfectly because its soft and delicate. This dress is lavish in it's simplicity. Third Row Center: Another "natural" idea are centerpieces with the soft natural feel from branches. The wonderful thing about these is you can pick that special something that fits your personality to hang from the branches. And while you are considering the soft flow of ribbons, take a look at this fireplace literally enchanted by soft satin ribbons with butterflies and candles. The dress in the bottom center placement is by Ines DiSanto. Soft wrapped bodice with a full princess skirt off of a dropped waist stands alone - and note the plumage throughout the entire skirt itself. And last but certainly not least, consider your own pink signature drink, the cosmopolitan. Thanks to the ladies of a little show you may have heard of, Sex In The City, this drink is the final touch to a fabulous pink paradise. Labels: Boards

Get Inspired! Teal I See You Again
When it comes to pure wedding charm and romantic design, teal and white still tickles our fancy as one of the best color combinations for your wedding. Everyone instantly recognizes the Tiffany blue diamond ring box and thinks "wedding" so it is no wonder why teal and white create the perfect wedding wonderland. We hope today's inspiration board inspires you to create you own teal and white delight. The Theme: Teal I See You Again Colors: Teal and White with acccents of Silver The Taste: Along with a cake add cupcakes which look like snowballs and display them on pure white china. Not only is pure white china a cost saver, but anything pure white adds to the feel of the winter setting. Also add natural white branches and other white accents to complete the look. The Cake: Your cake options are an open turf. Try a teal cake and decorate it with actual ornaments that look like ice crystals. These adorning accents are an inexpensive way to upgrade the look without blowing your budget with frosting created flowers or hand spun sugar decals. The Furniture: We absolutely love the teal Edwardian love seat we found from Urban Outfitters (top right). It goes to show you how you can get the upscale look and feel of period furniture without the expense. You would never know it from looking at it, but the love seat is actually made from cotton velveteen, a very inexpensive fabric. The Setting: Whether you are planning a winter wedding in Paris or a church beach wedding in Hawaii, teal and white work with any setting. The Gown: The above right elegant gown showing the full train is a St Pucchi Semi-cathedral, hand embroidered gown with sweetheart neckline. $3000 and up. Style No. 9211. The Details: We added a variety of items for inspiration in other areas - all the way from the chocolates from Chocochic to the look of a Chanel bracelet. Labels: Boards

Get Inspired! Decked Out In Art Deco (Part 3)
There is nothing like taking what is old and making it new again. And one style that just never goes OUT of style is Art Deco. Take a look at our inspiration board below to see how Art Deco has evolved from then to now. The new age of Art Deco offers the same sensual striking style it did in the early 1930's - with a softer air of sophistication. Christian Dior stepped up front for the new Spring 2009 line of Art Deco's romantic side. Feminine in every sense of the word and the head caps perfect the look. We just love these looks! Get Inspired!: Decked Out In Art Deco (Part 2)
Continuing our three part series on art deco inspired weddings, check out this blast from the past inspiration board celebrating art deco architecture, fashion and accessories. Art Deco was a popular international design movement from 1925 until 1939, affecting the decorative arts such as architecture, interior design, and industrial design, as well as the visual arts such as fashion, painting, the graphic arts and film. Its popularity peaked in Europe during the Roaring Twenties[2] and continued strongly in the United States through the 1930s. If you are in love with the art deco period and want to get inspired all year long, click here to order a 2009 Art Deco yearly calendar. Choose from one of many fabulous art deco art collections.
