Benefits of a Springtime Wedding
Springtime symbolizes new life and hope for what lies ahead. New blossoms of flowers begin to appear, the days become longer, and the temperature begins to rise as the winter snow melts. With its charm and splendor, spring is a wonderful time for a wedding. Hosting a wedding in the spring has many other benefits as well.
- More availability: For obvious reasons, summer is a popular time to have a wedding. That said, by having your wedding in the spring, you'll find that there are more options and availability from vendors and facilities. The most popular venue in your area may be booked solid for the entire summer, but is likely to have available dates in the spring.
- Flowers: Because of change in climate during the spring, you will find that you have a plethora of choices for your flower arrangements and bouquets. A florist can typically import any flower you want for your wedding, but if the flower is out-of-season, the cost will be drastically more. Springtime flowers are colorful and fragrant and make for lovely bouquets and arrangements at a reasonable price.
- Colors and decor: Springtime is often associated with magnificent pastels and delicate color palates. Weddings are also associated with the same soft colors. You'll find that decorations for your wedding including linens, ribbons, favors, stationary, etc. will be available in abundance during the spring because of these color palates.
- Wedding attire: Summer heat can make wearing a huge ball gown or a tuxedo very difficult. The spring weather is perfect for wedding day attire. You won't be too cold in a sleeveless gown and your fiance won't be sweating in his three-piece suit or tuxedo.
- Menu: Just like you can save money on spring flowers, you can also save money on using seasonal ingredients in your menu. Delicious vegetables like baby carrots, asparagus, sugar snap peas and artichokes are all seasonal vegetables that make for a delicious meal at a fair price. Talk to your caterer to see what seasonal ingredients you can incorporate into your menu.
