Savvy Wedding Planning Tip Of The Day

That's Entertainment: Hiring an Entertainment Consultant

Entertainment consultants: Your wedding is not the time to try out unproved talent. An entertainment consultant can be a big asset to your wedding planning team. They work with professional musicians, DJs, bands, and entertainers on a regular basis so they are familiar with the full spectrum of services available for your event. They are also able to book either local or national talent, depending on what you are looking for. Be sure to check references!

Appointments: Instead of dropping by their office, be sure to call ahead and schedule an appointment with your entertainment consultant. If you want their undivided attention, they need to set aside a block of time. Many consultants will also do advance research for you if they know you are coming.

Contracts: Any time you book any form of entertainment, be sure to get a contract that covers exactly what you are expecting the entertainers to do. Be clear about the times you want them to perform, and how you want them to interact with your guests.

Book enough time at the facility for your entertainers to set-up. Also, make arrangements with someone from the facility to see to their needs.

Get a specific list of your entertainer's needs. What are their space requirements; how many electrical outlets will be needed; how much setup time is required; are breaks specified in the contract, etc. The more information you have, the easier it will be to coordinate a wonderful evening of entertainment.
